Bethesda Behavioral Sciences is led by Dr. Michael Knable, a psychiatrist with extensive research and administrative experience, who has been named a "Top Doctor" (Top Psychiatrist) in Washingtonian Magazine.

We offer the following services:

Clinical Practice - Our clinical practice is mainly focused on assessment and treatment of young adults (age 18-35) with mood or psychotic disorders. In addition to office-based assessment and treatment planning, our practice is integrated with several other levels of care. Inpatient and partial hospitalization treatment are available at Suburban Hospital, Johns Hopkins Medicine. Long term residential treatment is available at Clearview Communities, LLC.

Forensic Psychiatry - We provide consultation and expert witness services for cases in which neuropsychiatric issues are involved in criminal or civil litigation.

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) - A novel treatment approved by the FDA in 2008 for patients with depression that responds incompletely to medications and/or psychotherapy. Please call 301-652-6260 for more information or to schedule an initial consultation.

Case Management Services - We provide assistance to individuals and families suffering from chronic mental illness who need help negotiating the healthcare system. We can coordinate insurance, medical, legal, residential, educational and employment aspects related to mental illness.

Neuropsychological Testing - We offer comprehensive psychological testing for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning in cognitive disorders.
